Solera Holdings reports second quarter fiscal year 2010 results

Solera, which provides software and services to the automobile insurance claims processing industry, has announced . second quarter revenue of $163.3 million, up 24.4% on a GAAP basis, with diluted net income per share of $0.33, up 13.5%. The company increased its fiscal 2010 guidance and announced a quarterly cash dividend.

Open source operating system Ubuntu's sponsor Canonical has said that industry veteran Matt Asay has come aboard as chief operating officer (COO). He would be responsible for aligning strategic goals and operational activities, the optimization of day-to-day operations, and leadership of Canonical marketing and back-office functions.

Software Top 100 Update: negative revenue trend

Although the software industry wrote very positive figures in 2008, as if there were no economic crisis, the current trend is clearly downward. The hundred largest software companies that saw revenues increase 18% on average in 2008, faced a decline of 4% this quarter.
